Defibrillators
There are two publicly accessible defibrillators serving the parish, located to ensure coverage across both Widecombe and Leusdon. In Widecombe, the defibrillator can be found in the village bus shelter, while in Leusdon it is positioned at the rear of Leusdon Memorial Hall.
Both devices are available for community use in an emergency and are an important part of the parish’s commitment to public safety. Residents are encouraged to familiarise themselves with these locations, as quick access can make a vital difference in a cardiac emergency.
Noticeboards
Parish noticeboards are located across the parish to ensure residents and visitors can easily access important local information. In Widecombe, the main noticeboard is situated outside Church House, while additional boards can be found in Poundsgate and Ponsworthy.
These noticeboards display council agendas, minutes, public notices and community news, helping to keep the whole parish informed and connected.
Highways – reporting a problem/pothole
If you notice a problem with roads, pavements, or other highways in Widecombe, you can report it directly to Devon County Council. Issues such as potholes, damaged signage, blocked drains, or faulty streetlights can be logged online through the council’s highways reporting system, or by contacting their customer service team.
Providing clear details and the exact location of the problem helps ensure a prompt and effective response. Reporting these issues plays an important role in keeping the parish safe, maintaining infrastructure, and supporting the council in prioritising repairs and improvements
