Road Warden Scheme
The Community Road Warden Scheme in Widecombe supports the care and upkeep of local roads through the efforts of trained volunteers. Working in partnership with the highway authority, community road wardens are able to carry out basic maintenance tasks.
As part of the scheme, wardens may also undertake minor pothole repairs where it is safe and appropriate to do so, helping to prevent further deterioration and improve road safety. This proactive approach plays an important role in our rural community, keeping our lanes in good condition and encouraging local involvement in looking after the community’s infrastructure.
Please contact the Parish Council if you wish to become involved as a volunteer.
